Ahh, la belle Paris…
You will never run out of things to do in Paris and that is certain! With so much to discover and experience in one of the most visited cities of the world, it could feel a bit overwhelming narrowing down your list of things to do. Hopefully this list will help you with deciding on what to do during your stay in Paris. Bon voyage! Xx
1. Climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower
I don’t know what kind of spell the Eiffel Tower has upon me, but I kid you not, I am in love with the Eiffel Tower. I can’t go to Paris and not visit it. I highly encourage you to make it to the very top of the Eiffel Tower and if you don’t want your legs to be so sore then take the elevator too! Also, be sure to get a good glimpse of the tower during the evening, so you can watch it work its magic and show off its sparking lights.
2. Order a box of macaroons
I don’t care if you don’t like sweets. Once in Paris, that’s not a real excuse to not try French macaroons. So go and buy yourself a box or seven and enjoy every single one of them for me. Merci!
3. Visit Notre Dame
Have you ever seen the Hunchback of Notre Dame? If you have then fantastic, this was that cathedral. If you haven’t seen the film, then make time to watch it before your trip. The lines to get inside will get long as usual, so arrive early or simply wait your turn. P.S. climb to the top as well!!!
4. Drink hot chocolate at Angelina’s
Famed for its delicious hot chocolate, you will be amazed by just how good it really is. Check out their website for its locations, too.
5. Get lost in the Louvre
Mona Lisa is waiting for you, but be warned… she’s tiny and always brings the crowds to her.
6. Window shop at Champs-Élysées
Stroll along its beautiful tree lined street (very long street may I add) and be greeted with many many shops, restaurants, and even museums to visit. You will definitely be easily amused here.
7. Go on a Seine river cruise
Book yourself a ticket to go on a lovely river cruise along the Seine. You’ll be able to see tons of major attractions along the way! I recommend going in the evening and possibly booking a cruise with a dinner option, too.
8. Relax at Champ de Mars
One of my favorite parks in Paris (mainly because it is right next to my beloved love, la tour Eiffel) is the perfect place to just hang out at and take a nap, or even enjoy a picnic at!
9. Climb the stairs of the Arc de Triomphe
Yes, I am obsessed with any amount of set of stairs that will lead me to catch a glimpse of the beautiful city from atop and so should you.
10. Tour the catacombs
Hands down one of the coolest things to experience while in Paris! Who wouldn’t want to go underground to check out the remains of over 6 million people…
11. Eat a crepe
Eat one or two or four or twenty- four crepes! You will find crepes being sold practically everywhere, so make a list and try different crepes along the way.
12. Visit the Sacré-Cœur
Take a trip atop of Montmartre hill and visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris. Once there you will also be greeted with a wonderful panoramic view of the city.
13. Watch a show at Moulin Rouge
There are plenty of cabaret shows you could find to watch in Paris, but how awesome would it be to be able to say you saw a cabaret show in the one and only Moulin Rouge. Just be aware that ticket prices will not come cheap.
14. Explore Île de la Cité
Ile de la Cite is a small island in the Seine, which is also the oldest part of Paris. Wander along its cobblestone streets and take in the view of what was once a small medieval city.
15. Visit the Panthéon
Situated in the Latin Quarter in Paris, this has got to be one of the top attractions you need to visit because once you climb your way to the top, you will be stunned with amazing views of Paris.
16. Eat a croissant
You can’t go to Paris without eating a handful of croissants.
And if you have a free day (or two) in Paris…
17. Take a day trip to Versailles
This is a must. You can’t go to Paris without visiting the Palace of Versailles! Take a stroll along it’s beautiful gardens and take a photo in the famed Hall of Mirrors. However, arrive early and book your tickets in advance (if you’re not part of a tour) because it WILL get overly crowded.
18. Visit Disneyland Paris
Why not be in the happiest place on earth, but in Paris!?
What else would you add on to this list!?
